About the Department:
&nbsp;Our College is located in the famous backward area of West Bengal, known as Jangalmahal.&nbsp; Department of Geography started its journey in 2006 with only General study under Vidyasagar University.&nbsp; Since 2008, the Department of Geography has reached its full potential since the Honors started.&nbsp; Currently, both Honors and General subjects are taught under the semester system.&nbsp; Students are continuously evaluated through regular internal evaluations, field visits, presentations etc. in the department.&nbsp; Practical classes&nbsp; are added to each part of the syllabus, which gives students an idea of the practical application and acceptance of the subject.&nbsp; Field visits are conducted regularly, which expose students to the practical concepts of the subject.&nbsp; Special attention is also given to the use of computers and advanced software as part of the subject.&nbsp; Regular meetings, discussions are held for the improvement of the department, special attention is paid to overcome the weaknesses of the students. Classes are taken by lectures, Practical and tutorial methods. Most of the classes are taken&nbsp; by&nbsp; power point presentations . &nbsp;&nbsp;Emphasis is also placed on developing other qualities in students through wall magazines and several cultural programmes.
