ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

About Department:
Department of chemistry was established in the year 2006 with very limited number of teachers and non-teaching staff, under Vidyasagar University. Undergraduate Honours course started in the year 2012. At present the department is controlled by three teachers and one laboratory attendant. Now student&rsquo;s intake capacity of this department is 12.
This department has some distinctive characters regarding mode of teaching and learning. Beside taking of regular theoretical and practical classes, tutorial &amp; counselling classes for students of different categories are taken in a regular manner. The departmental class rooms are well equipped with ICT technologies. The department has two large laboratories, one regular instrumentation laboratory for quantitative analysis and another for qualitative analysis, for all the three specializations (Organic, Inorganic and Physical) in Chemistry along with chemical store room. The department has own library with a wide range of reference and text books which can be accessed by students for a long time also.
In summary, this department has a student-friendly environment with a strict discipline.
